Taiwan, being an isolated country, has long had problems sourcing military equpment. So they have come up with an inovative soulution. In order to make their own missles The Taiwanese have been taking the engines out of their old Northrop F-5 Tiger II jets in order to figure out how to make their own coppies for a cruise missle. The Taiwanese think that they need cruise missles in order to keep China at bay.
This relates to engineering because the Taiwanese are having to go through the engineering proces in order to make their own coppies of the engines from the jets, which they will use to engineer their own missles.
