How a Laptop Charger Works

By: Kevin Lopez Caballero, Journalist

A laptop charger is used a lot in this world

A Laptop chargers and adapters are often referred to as “laptop power adapters,” laptop adapters,” or simply “laptop chargers.” We will refer to them as laptop chargers in this post.
The laptop charger converts AC power from a standard outlet (input power to the charger) to DC power for laptops (output power to the charger).
The laptop charger’s output power should match the laptop’s input power requirements, including voltage requirements.
The input voltage of a laptop charger is typically 100-240V AC and the output voltage is typically 19V DC. As mentioned, this is a typical input voltage requirement for laptops.
However, not all chargers provide the right voltage for all laptops.. .Laptop chargers typically have a voltage of 100-240 VAC (input) and provide an output of 19 VDC, and depending on the computer there are different chargers.
