The story of Mesut Özil

How Mesut Özil became one of the best creative passers and playmakers of our century.
Ozil’s skills and creativity

The story of Mesut Ozil begins back in 1988 when he was born in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, and since his youth showed that he was a promising player. He joined a professional club named “FC Schalke 04” at just the age of 16 but ended up leaving for a club named “WV Werder Bremen” since he wasn’t happy with his wages. On his transfer to Werder Bremen, he exceeded expectations since he provided 15 assists and 3 goals that season with Werder Bremen. After two fantastic seasons with Werder Bremen, he decided to leave the club.

Real Madrid bought him for 20 million euros and he even impressed the German National Team enough to join the squad and play in the World Cup when he was 21 years old. Even though he had a great World Cup, Germany got eliminated by the world champions Spain 0-1 in the semifinals. With Real Madrid, he had great seasons and even assisted CR7 in a lot of his goals. He had a great season with Madrid a Mourinho as their coach but Ozil had trouble when Ancelotti was coach since he said that Di Maria and OZIL weren’t a part of his plan for the team.

Once the Soccer Market opened every team decided to get new players and sell players. Arsenal was a big team in the Premier League but they were a team that was in a rebuilding phase. Arsenal decided to spend the cash on Ozil and make him join their rebuilding phase. This plan did not work out since Ozil’s form started dropping and he got lower stats also Arsenal was not heading in the right path. His form ended up never going back and he was never back to his good form like how he was at Real Madrid. This led to him going to smaller teams like Fenerbahce FC and ended up having to retire in 2022. To sum it up, he was a great player who didn’t reach his full potential.
