Tanks In The Present
Warfare has relied on tanks for decades, and Ukraine’s history includes many. Significant tank battles were during World War II today. In the ongoing Ukraine-Russia conflict, both sides continue to use Soviet-era tanks, with the T-72 being the most commonly used. However, as the conflict persists, advanced technology is being sent to the front lines. The Russian T-90 is now in use, but there is additional support coming from NATO and the Biden administration in the form of advanced western main battle tanks. The German Leopard Two and the U.S M1 Abrams are among the advanced tanks approved for shipment to the region.

This tank was a true workhorse of the war, being produced in large quantities, with an astounding 50,000 units being manufactured between 1942 and 1945. Not only did the United States make use of this powerful machine, but it was also employed by other countries, including Great Britain, France, China, and the Soviet Union. It’s fascinating to consider the sheer scale of production required to bring this formidable weapon to bear on the battlefield, and the pivotal role it played in shaping the course of history.
