The company creating this extraordinary innovation in this category is Alauda Aeronautics, which is an Australia-based technology company. They are the first to ever make a crewed flying electric racecar. They have been testing rigorously in South Australia.

“It is the future, it is pod racing in the sky… it’s Star Wars,” the companies head of media Steven Sidlo told ABC News.

Steven also said “We’re not a plane, and we’re not a drone… we’re a whole new transportation system,”

This type of technology has never been done before, so many people are very eager to hear more about it or even see it in the Olympics. The company has said that if everything goes smoothly with testing and such that they could do some sort of demonstration with it at the 2032 Olympics in Brisbane Australia.

“We’d love to be at the Olympics and do something there,” Sidlo said.

“But the only way we’re really going to get there is if we validate what the sport looks like, get broadcasts, get a desire from the audience on what they want to see, and also test this safety system.

The company also said this will be the fastest eVTOL (vertical take-off and landing) aircraft thanks to a top speed of 360 km/h (225 mph). This speed can be reached in a mere 30 seconds, which is an unheard of acceleration speed.  Power comes from a “Thunderstrike Hydrogen Turbogenerator” using hydrogen as fuel to generate up to 1,341 hp for the motors and batteries. The car can go approximately 300km before needing to refuel.

Matt Pearson, CEO of Alauda Aeronautics said: “We, and the world, are ready for crewed flying car racing. We have built the vehicles, developed the sport, secured the venues, attracted the sponsors and technical partners. Now is the time for the world’s most progressive, innovative and ambitious automotive brands, OEM manufacturers and motorsport teams to be part of a truly revolutionary new motorsport.”
