Have you ever wondered how big a black hole can be? Well, there are multiple different sizes of black holes. The smallest black holes are called primordial black holes they can be the size of atoms but scientists believe that they have the same mass as a mountain. A medium size black hole is called a stellar black hole, stellar black holes are about as big as 10 miles but some can be up to 20x the mass of the sun. The largest size of black holes are called supermassive, they normally have the mass of 1 million suns and are around as big as half of our solar system. But the biggest black hole ever found is called TON 618 it is equal to the mass of 66 Billion of our suns and it has a diameter of around 78 billion miles. This single black hole is 40% the size of our solar system.

Have you ever thought about where is the closest black hole? The closest is about 1,600 light-years away. This black hole is away in the constellation Ophiuchus. It is three times closer than the previous closest black hole.  The name of this black hole is Gaia BH1. Gaia BH1 is a stellar black hole about ten times more massive than the sun. If you are wondering there is little to no chance of Gaia BH1 wandering into our solar system.
