Classification

  • Bats are the only mammals that can fly.
  • Bats have fur.
  • Bat give birth to living young.   
  • Mammals’ mothers nurse their young with milk.
  • Bats have lungs and need air to breathe.
  • Bats are warm-blooded

Habitat

Bats are found in caves, woods, and houses in all parts of the world except the Arctic and Antarctica.

Diet

  • Some Bats are carnivores 
  • Bats’ diets are blood and oranges.
  • Some bats are herbivores.

Predator and Prey

  • Most bats eat insects. Some eat plants, and a few eat small animals. Some bats are carnivores, and some bats are herbivores.

Adaptation

  • Bats make a high-pitched scream called sonar (behavioral)
  • Bats are nocturnal creatures, which means they’re active at night (behavioral)
