Physicists John Howell and Joseph Choi of the University of Rochester have developed a set of four lenses that bend and refract light in order to make whatever is behind the lenses disappear. The lenses colloquially known as the ‘Rochester Cloak’ are also able to be infinitely scaled so in theory you could be able to cloak a whole person.

The invisibility lens relates to engineering because of the exact measurements and the light refraction that have to be accounted for in order to cause the cloaking effect. This also relates to the Engineering Design Process because it took multiple iterations to bring out a final product.
