Have you ever seen a windmill in your life? A big pole with a propeller on it. Isn’t it weird? Its been a part of our lives for a long time. Aren’t they interesting? Everyone wonders about it when they are little. A invention that produces electricity. If you want you can make your own windmill, but first you should learn about it a little.

Many countries in world use windmills. The first windmill in United states was manufactured in 1854. Windmills are used to produce electricity. Right now many countries use nuclear and water power to make electricity. But there are still some parts of world that uses windmill. Even people like farmers make their own windmills to produce electricity in their farm,. They can be a great source for small places. How a windmill works is the win turbines operate on a simple principle. The energy in the wind turns two or three propeller-like blades around a rotor. The rotor is connected to the main shaft, which spins a generator to create electricity.
