Hydroelectric plants work by falling water turning turbines, which produced mechanical energy, and the generator then convert the mechanical energy into electrical energy, which can then be stored and supplied to the public. Hydroelectric energy is used all around the world, and is the most used form of renewable energy. While hydroelectricity has its pros, like being a clean source of energy, there are also negative sides to look at.

Wind Turbines: Pros and Cons

A wind turbine is a piece of machinery, typically between 60 and 120 meters tall. Wind turbines have 3 large metal blades that spin and are connected to a drive shaft which turns the generator, thus creating electricity. Wind turbines can be connected to a power grid and can supply electricity to wherever it is needed. Wind energy is fully renewable, like solar, which means it is replenished at a higher rate than it is used.
