Open AI’s newest and most dangerous development
OpenAI is an artificial intelligence research and development company. They focus on utilizing artificial intelligence to better humanity.
OpenAI has a series of models under the GPT name but this is about GPT-4, the newest and most advanced AI by OpenAI.
GPT-4 is a major upgrade from its predecessor, GPT-3. GPT-4 can solve more difficult problems with greater accuracy. This model of GPT allows for input from text and images! The new image input feature is a revolutionary prospect and is the first step into an exciting new future with artificial intelligence.
Some concerns about GPT-4 have some valid arguments. Leaders in technology such as Elon Musk have urged a pause in the development and research in artificial intelligence; their reasoning is that the more artificial intelligence evolves the more risk it poses to society.
These arguments may have seriously valid points as Open AI stated that GPT-4 received a 1410 on the SAT (94th percentile), 163 on the LSAT (88th percentile), and a 298 on the Bar Exam (90th percentile).
As AI continues to develop more and more we may be able to see AI take over jobs in the future or evolve to make its own decisions. This technology is a scary thing to deal with and it’s the reason why these leaders called for a pause in AI development.
Currently, OpenAI has limited GPT-4 by making it so only certain topics could be asked by users, however, they have found out if you ask the AI a certain prompt it lifts these limitations allowing for the AI to do whatever the user wants without any blocking enabled. This is a scary and amazing thing at the same time.
GPT-4 has exhibited an ability to produce human-like responses which just tells us that if we do allow AI to get more and more powerful than it already is it could do anything and everything.
Currently, the only way to use GPT-4 is by purchasing a subscription offered by Open AI called Chat-GPT plus. Chat-GPT itself is a way to use the GPT technology to act as a sort of chat bot. Chat-GPT plus is 20 dollars a month, but the question is that is it worth it?
