We all know that this year, the Brood X cicadas are coming for us. They are not going to kill you, but they might make it into your stomach. In an ice cream store in Columbia, Missouri. Apparently, the display case was sold out before the store even opened. Now, the Brood X cicadas only come out of the ground every 17 years. I’ll bet the store is going to like that. How they prepare the ice cream is that after the molting stage, the workers boil the cicadas and fold them into the ice cream. But why eat cicadas? They contain a lot of protein, and scientists say that they have the same amount of protein as red meat. All in all,  who would eat cicada ice cream? Not me of course.

This is related to engineering because the ice cream liquid is going through a physical change. This relates to STEM which is related to engineering.
