A programmable robotic hand that moves its fingers. This robotic hand need very specific and detailed programming for each finger due to the fact that each finger has a mind of its own. The creators of this used a machine on their hand to make the robotic hand mirror what the creator was doing on his/her hand. As you can see in the beginning of the video there are so many wires connecting the each finger because its that’s hard to create. Each finger needs a lot of work to be done on it such as planning for each finger, measurements etc. The robotic hand has different weights on each finger to help the fingers move somewhat smoothly. It relates to engineering in many ways such as the thought process that went behind the invention of the robotic hand, a lot of things were required like Metacognition, and especially Sustained Attention staying focused when making this robotic hand was key to its success.
