On March 5, 2025, at approximately 9:34 a.m., a Sikorsky UH-60L Black Hawk crashed in Honduras while attempting a “precautionary emergency landing,” according to Interesting Engineer with the incident. This crash raises concerns, especially since a similar event occurred over the Potomac River just two months earlier, also involving a Black Hawk. In total, there have been more than 13 crashes in 2025 involving various aircraft, including Black Hawks. This is the second crash of a Black Hawk for the Army this year.
The pilot of the downed Black Hawk was a member of the U.S. Army. According to Newsweek, the pilot stated, “The pilots flying a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter made a precautionary emergency landing approximately 5 miles east of Soto Cano Air Base at 9:34 a.m.” Newsweek also reported that all five crew members were evaluated by medical personnel, and no significant injuries were reported. The aircraft was conducting routine training in the area at the time of the incident. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the crash. The Black Hawk sustained significant damage.
As previously mentioned, this is the second crash involving a Black Hawk this year. We hope and pray that no further accidents occur, and we are thankful that no injuries resulted from this crash.Hawk just this year. We hope and pray that no more accidents will occur, thankfully no injuries happened in this crash.
