Chemists at the University of Chicago have made a new way to create artificial photosynthesis. The burning of fossil fuels has impacted our world in a negative way which is why they created Artificial Photosynthesis. They stated, “Without natural photosynthesis, we would not be here.” Artificial photosynthesis produces ethanol, methane, and other fuels. When natural photosynthesis creates carbohydrates the artificial makes fuel for cars. In reality, it can only produce small amounts. People have been trying to complete these complicated tasks for decades. The Chicago group then thought of using amino acids to help the reaction become more efficient. Artificial photosynthesis is still not at the level in which it can be used throughout the world. Although these are only the early stages, humans have come a long way.
