The LimX Dynamics has started selling its new robot TRON 1. The robot’s design allows for three different models: point-foot for simple and easy control, sole for normal human-like walking, and finally wheels to move on all-terrain. Robot is 33 inches tall and weighs at around 45 pounds. And is available for $15,000, however when fully charged can be used for approximately 2 hours.
The main innovation of TRON 1 is its modular design, it allows for the robot to jump, squat, and turn while adapting to different terrains in different modes. For robotics it is an important tool in studying capabilities of multi-modular robots. Company states “In the AI era of general-purpose robots, Tron 1 serves as the best onboarding platform for humanoid robot motion control and a must-have testbed for embodied intelligence research,” The new on LimX dynamics Youtube channel shows the robots versatility on different terrains in wheeled mode.
The video shows TRON 1 clearing through rodent barriers, and different heights of stairs, and more. Also it shows the robot’s ability to automatically adjust when pushed or has fallen. This happens because of robot’s ability to automatically detecting hardware and modification software. TRON 1 offers a fully open software development kit (SDK) and hardware interface, which can support learning-based research and the model-based research, with hardware designed for legged robots to optimize its mobility. According to company researchers can advance performance for hard tasks. To Summarize the LimX Dynamics launched its new multi-modal TRON 1 robot with many innovations.
