What is asteroid mining? Asteroid mining is when you travel to deep space and harvest valuable materials on the asteroid that are worth lots and lots of money. Asteroid mining might cause global warming and other pollution in the Earth’s atmosphere. Asteroid mining could reduce the need for resources we are getting less and less of.
One problem with asteroid mining is that it would be costly. Traveling that deep into space would cost lots of money. If we were to travel to an asteroid belt and mine them, every person on earth would have one hundred billion dollars each. After the asteroids were farmed, we would have almost infinite resources. Even though all of this sounds amazing, it may still not be worth it or available for a few years.
There are some things about asteroid mining and how it may become relevant in the near future.
