Within the last few years, you have probably heard of a thing called a 3D Printer. They can be found in libraries, in Engineering classrooms, and they can even be found in some hobbyists’ homes. 3D Printers have been becoming more and more popular over the past few years because of advances in this technology. The first step in starting your journey in 3D Printing is buying a 3D Printer. But how will you know if a printer is reliable and good in value? What are some name brands that should be considered when buying your first 3D Printer?
Creality is one of the biggest 3D Printer distributors. They provide consumers with low cost, configurable 3D Printers. There is no exact model that is fit for everyone, because everyone has their own set budgets, but the Creality Ender 3 V2 is a good start. It is usually found at $200 dollars, which is pretty affordable, but affordability comes with the downside of some lesser quality parts and less reliable prints. Nevertheless, the Ender 3 V2 is a fantastic 3D Printer for beginners, coming with a color screen with scroll wheel, power loss recovery, a feed knob, along with a few other nice features.
Stepping up a notch comes the Bambu Lab A1. The price is currently hovering around $339-$399 dollars, and this machine is absolutely amazing for the price. I would recommend this 3D Printer to anyone who wants to get started in 3D Printing and can afford the $400 dollar price mark. For an extra 200 dollars from the Ender 3, you get a heck of a better deal. You get Full-auto Calibration, Multi-Color Printing (Combo Version), Active Flow Rate Compensation, 1-Clip Quick Swap Nozzle, Active Motor Noise Cancelling, and a 256*256*256 mm Build Volume.
Now we’re at the more professional 3D Printing area. If you have the money, feel free to consider these two options at around $1,000 dollars.
- The Bambu Lab X1C: This Printer is great if you are into prototyping and printing fast. It’s fully enclosed and pretty reliable. Features: Multi Color & Multi Material Capability. High quality printing with 7 μm Lidar Resolution, High speed CoreXY with 20000 mm/s² Acceleration, and Dual Auto Bed Leveling.
- Prusa MK4S 3D Printer Kit/Assembled: Prusa has been the leading company in terms of quality and reliability for the past 9 years. The MK4S is no exception, with great quality and reliability, and you can also save 300 dollars by assembling the 3D Printer yourself, but it’s not the most recommended for beginners, but if you’re ready to learn, go for it!
