Today we’re going talk about Neuralink. To truly understand what this is we need to ask the question, what is Neuralink and how does it work? Simply put, Neuralink is a brain chip designed by Elon Musk. The company has the goal to “Create a generalized brain interface to restore autonomy to those with unmet medical needs today and unlock human potential tomorrow.” So far, the most the technology can do is just move your cursor around using your brain. It may be simple, but there are so many possibilities with this, we could learn to talk to dogs.
This is still a very new company, the first person to try one of these “brain chips” tried it on January 29, 2024 and according the Elon Musk,
The technology is still very new and people don’t know much about it yet. However, the general idea of this brain implant is that you can navigate your computer without physicality touching anything. It can be wirelessly charged and you can use the app on your phone to do as you will. This is very important because the technology has changed a lot in the science world as well. The scientists that made these chips had to learn a lot about how the brain works and change what happens to the computer when the brain “moves” in a certain way. This all sounds good but there is so much room to go wrong. What happens if the chip overheats? What if the charging doesn’t work? What if the chip breaks and explodes? It also isn’t build for the average person, it is mostly targeted to people who can’t use the internet the same as everybody else. All in all, I believe that the Neuralink brain chip is set to change the future.
