How the internet woks
We use our phones, computers, and other electronical devices everyday. The majority of our electronic devices need the internet to work . to be able to understand what the internet is we need to understand what network is. A network is a group of computers that share data. and the Internet is a wide collection of networks that are connected to each other. the internet comes from the interconnected networks. Packet and Protocols are the two main components that makes the internet work. A packet is a a unit of data going from one address to another through the internet. A protocol is a standardized way to input data into a computer so that any computer can interpret the data.
The history of the internet
now that we know how the internet work, lets take a look at the history of the internet. In 1962 MIT researcher J.C.R. Licklider presented the idea of a group of computer to connect to each other to share data and programs regardless of the physically location of the computers. In 1965 researchers, Leonard Kleinrock and Lawrence G. Roberts, were able to connect two computer from across the country though a telephone line. In 1968, The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) created a system, ARPANET, that was used to send information between computer. and, in 1969, A host computer connected to another computer at UCLA and to Stanford researchers computers through a network, this was part of the ARPANET project. Today, we all used all kinds of electronics that need the internet to be able to work, and to do amazing things. For example our small smart phones use the internet to do cool things like getting results for searches and text messages almost instantly.
