A siphon works by first getting water to start flowing. then the water will make it’s way through the tube, getting to a point where gravity keeps pulling water down the pipe’s ends are on unequal elevation, creating a siphon, this will continue to flow until there is no water to drain.
- construct a pipe with one end lower than another and with a third pipe going upwards
- get two cups one full of water
- put the short end of the pipe inside the cup full of water
- start the flow by sucking on a third tube or use a self starting siphon.
- watch as the water flows up and starts flowing down
