What’s the Difference Between Hardware and Software

Hardware, Software and what they do

There are many differences between hard and software. The biggest one being that hardware is the physical components of the computer while software is the programs that they run off of.  Think of the hardware as your phone but the software is all the programs you have on your computer.

Now if you were to have have just the hardware you would just be left with a computer in front of us. It wouldn’t be able to do anything because it’s not receiving any instructions from the software to do any of the basic actions that a computer would normally do. But if you were to just have the software, there would be no actual computer. If all we have are the programs, we just have a bunch of instructions but no computer to give the instructions to.

Also they can both be damaged in different ways, hardware will be affected through wear and tear while the software will be affected by the viruses and malware but if either are damaged it can be bad for your computer. Overall both hardware and software are very important to make your computer run, and if you didn’t even have one nothing would work.
