To start this article off, we will be talking about new gen(New generation) and old gen(Old generation). New generation consoles right now are the “Xbox Series S,” “Xbox Series X,” and “Playstation 5.” We will only be talking about the PlayStation and Xbox consoles for old generation. We will start with the pros and cons.
Pros: Great controllers, Graphics and resolution, PlayStation Plus, Connectivity with other players, Parental controls, and safety.
Cons: Backwards compatibility, No next-gen feature compatibility.
Now let’s look at the Playstation 5 pros and cons
pros: Ultra-High Definition 4k resolution, High Frame Rate, Faster loading time, 3D audio, and Ray tracing.
Cons: No backward compatibility, Limited storage space, Expensive, No native 4k blue-ray player, no VR support.
As you can see, the PlayStation 4 has backward compatibility while the PS5 does not. Another thing to note is that both consoles have PlayStation Plus and can play online with other people. The PS4 has backward compatibility, while the PS5 does not. What this means is that PS4 owners can play PS2 and PS3 games digitally only while PS5 owners on the other hand cannot so this means that people who prefer old games cannot on the PS5. Another thing to talk about is the performance; the PS5 performs better than the PS4 with better graphics frames and resolution, so you can play competitive games more smoothly than the ps4 if you’re willing to sacrifice nostalgia for those sweet frames. Get the PS5, but let’s be honest – Xbox is better.
