Scientists have tried to teach computers about chemistry. This article is about how some researchers took a kind of AI (Artificial Intelligence) program normally used to translate languages and then connected it to organic chemistry. Instead of translating real languages, the researchers had this program read the “language” of organic chemistry and then had it try to predict the outcomes of possible organic chemical reactions
This relates to engineering because the researchers had to use artificial intelligence and try to put in the chemistry formulas on the computer. This requires designing the information to put on the computer. Also, in the future more accurate models of equations can be made.
