The five love languages are words of affirmation, quality time, getting gifts, acts of service, and physical touch. There are five various ways to give and receive love. While each person has a favored method of love that is unique, knowing which language connects to you most, can help you and your spouse develop a closer bond.

One love language is physical touch. Physical intimacy and touch are actions that make someone feel loved without being told. Public displays of affection can make them feel wanted and desirable.

Words of affirmation are ways of telling or expressing love rather than showing it. Verbally appreciate, reassure, encourage, empathize, and ensure you are actively listening; all of this is love to them. For example, tell them about an admirable quality about them. Even if you have said it before, they will never get tired of hearing it.

For quality time, just being there is not enough. Quality time requires spending meaningful time together. Make your presence known by listening to them or doing common interesting activities Sitting in silence without awkwardness is comforting.  Acts of service that benefit the spouse rather than themselves. When your spouse is busy, assist them in making their lives easier. Most people whose love language is acts of service either show their gratitude by helping their spouse or feel loved when their spouse goes out of their way to help them. The last love language gifts. Gifts can be received or given. Receiving gifts is a visual symbol of love. The gifts need to be meaningful or show that you were thinking of them. While giving gifts: you like to see their reactions or enjoyment of opening the gift. Seeing someone excited about your gift is enjoyable.

Every relationship needs a little bit of each of the five love languages. Finding the one you need most will make you feel cherished and desired. Those are all languages of love. These could improve communication between relationships!
