Snapchat Is Good For You
Snapchat can actually be beneficial to teens health.
What is Snapchat?
Social media is commonly made out to be evil. In this article you will see why it can be good. Despite being primarily known as a messaging app, Snapchat is much more than that. First of all, it’s a digital photo booth that let users to shoot a “Snap”—an instant snapshot or video—and then add fun filter elements that a standard phone camera lacks. You can alter your background, turn on voice-changing effects, or add extras to your image, such as a cat perched on your head or stars in your eyes.
The “Chat” section of the app is the next step, where users share their photo or video with specific pals. According to Talia Arnold, head of strategy at digital media startup Exverus, “pictures or videos sent to friends are automatically erased; they’re not saved in a feed like on Facebook or Instagram.”Although that’s a plus, you can’t follow your children like you could on other platforms because of the “sending to friends” feature. Despite the fact that you can technically take a screenshot of a chat, doing so alerts the sender, chats are more like a moment in time that can’t actually be saved.
Is it good for you?
In fact, youth can benefit from social media. In fact, given the right direction, technology can aid in the development of these talents (just consider blogs, chat rooms, and other platforms). By viewing news, documentaries, and reading about issues online, they can also learn how to interact with and share their point of view with others, witness positive role models, and become more politically and socially conscious. Additionally, Snapchat provides some of these advantages. Teenagers also adore the fact that it is a fun way for them to stay in touch with friends constantly without feeling under as much pressure to appear flawless (like on Instagram or Facebook).
