The Colossus of Rhodes is a statue made by the Greeks as an attribution to the greek god of the sun, Helios. The  Colossus of Rhodes was made during the time period of 282-294 BCE. It is a statue placed before the harbor of Rhodes as a symbol of their victory against Demetrius Poliorcetes, who had attacked them with their military. The statue is made fully out of bronze and is about 98 feet tall, sadly the statue was destroyed by a massive earthquake. The Colossus of Rhodes is mostly known for being one of the seven wonders of the world. It is also known for its height, which is amazing since it was built a very long time ago. The statue lasted pretty long but it snapped at the knees due to the earthquake, it stood for about 54 years.
