Don’t get too worried early about the sun dying, this moment will happen in billions of years.

But in the meanwhile, we should all be happy because the sun is the main reason that we have life on Earth, without this star, we wouldn’t even be here. humanity only has 1 billion years until we find something to live on.
In about 5 billion years, the sun will turn into a red giant, and won’t be around in that time, the sun is about 4.6 billion years old, it was formed at the times when our solar system was formed, there will be other things happening while our sun is in its last years.

Almost 30 years ago, astronomers noticed something peculiar: The brightest planetary nebulae in other galaxies all have about the same level of brightness. This means that theoretically at least, by looking at the planetary nebulae in other galaxies, astronomers can calculate how far away they are.

Even a star with a mass less than 1.1 times that of the Sun won’t produce a visible nebula. Bigger stars up to 3 times more massive than the Sun, on the other hand, will produce brighter nebulae.
“When a star dies, it ejects a mass of gas and dust — known as its envelope — into space. The envelope can be as much as half the star’s mass,” astronomer Albert Zijlstra of the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom.
