How Nutella Is Made
How nutella is made in a factory.
First, the hazelnuts are de-shelled and the cocoa is ground up into a powder. Next, the hazelnuts are inspected to find impurities. Then, the hazelnuts, cocoa powder, skimmed milk, and sugar are mixed together. After that, this smooth paste is sent for packaging Finally, the nutella is packaged and sent to stores to enjoy!
Fun Fact, There are about 50 hazelnuts in each jar of Nutella. The 7 ingredients in Nutella are: sugar, palm oil, hazelnuts, milk, cocoa, lecithin, and vanillin. You might not know about vanillin. Vanillin is used mainly as a flavoring agent and it is the chemical extract of the vanilla bean. However, 99% of vanillithin comes from labs where it is produced synthetically but it also be made out of wood and other biomass sources. 15% of the lab produced vanillin is from lignin and if you want to know more about lignin click here.
Some people say Nutella isn’t healthy and they are right. It is high in sugar, calories, and fat and if you eat it on a daily basis without an active lifestyle you will become obese. Also, nutella is different from chocolate because it doesn’t have any artificial preservatives or colors that some other chocolate companies put in their chocolate. Nutella is expensive because of worldwide shortages of hazelnuts and cocoa. Nutella is also rich in fiber and that helps with cholesterol control.
