Though both Nissans 180sx and 240sx were produced during the same time, though, are some differences that can debate which model is finer.

The 240sx has a 2.4L engine in addition to its 4-speed auto transmission, while the 180sx contains a 1.8L engine with its 5-speed manual.  The 180sx has more torque and horsepower. At the beginning of their models, the 180sx was able to maintain a DOHC (Dual Overhead Camshaft) while the 240sx only had SOHC (Singular Overhead Camshaft) and was only able to maintain a DOHC in its second generation.

Aside from the engines, there are also differences in their appearance. Although both models are coupes, the 180sx is capable of containing a larger amount of cargo with 10.4 ft cubed, while the 240sx carries up to 8.6ft cubed.

The 180sx was originally built for the Japanese market whereas the 20sx was targeted towards the United States market.  Markets affect the process of innovations generally because of technology differences, interest rates, etc.

Both cars were in the mind of race cars so they generally have a sport feel to them. With these differences, which one is better overall? The Nissan 180sx is preferable due to its extra torque and smooth feel,  along with the 180sx’s better way of leveling out weight when it comes to drifting, etc.
