BeamNG.Drive is a car simulator that has one of the most realistic destruction physics. It also has a built-in mod browser to download mods from. The mod selection is very large, so running out of mods is near impossible. BeamNG.Drive is $25 on Steam, the biggest PC gaming platform. There are 15 official maps and 34 official cars, but more are added from time to time. Of course, there are more mods to add to that number, but it would take too long to count them all. BeamNG is in early access, meaning that there will be stuff added to the game. It isn’t unfinished, it’s completely playable, as long as you have a beefy PC.

The main premise of BeamNG is destruction. With soft-body physics, even the smallest dent can be found. If you can think of something to do, you can do it. The main downside of BeamNG is if you have a slow PC, this game isn’t going to run well. BeamNG has seven game modes and a secret eighth. There are campaigns, and each one has a different difficulty, with easy, medium, hard, and very hard. There are also scenarios, where you do little challenges. Bus routes are the third game mode in the list, where you use the bus and drive around to pick up and drop off invisible passengers. Freeroam is just what it sounds like. You get to drive freely around many maps to explore. Light runner is a racing game mode with lots of skill required to go the fastest. Along with Light runner, there’s a track builder to make your own custom tracks. There are time trials for the last game mode in the list, where you go as fast as you can, to beat the clock. But wait, there’s a secret mode. Clicking on the career button six times, although it says coming soon, you get the secret game mode. I have never played this, as I never knew about this, and the official documentation of the game has no record of this either. BeamNG is also great for testing tuned cars. Every part of the vehicles are customizable, so you can tune everything. BeamNG is a virtual sandbox for car lovers. You can even customize the in game UI. The controls are easy to understand, but if you want to change them, you can. This game lets you change the gravity. There are some presets, like sun gravity or jupiter’s gravity, but there’s a slider to let you choose a specific amount. Finally, there’s a built in mod browser, so you can download and use mods, without even leaving the game. It’s suggested that you don’t download more than 15 mods at once, as it’s going to strain the game too much. There’s more that I haven’t covered, so you should get the game to see everything for yourself.
