Basic History Of Nuclear Weapons

Nuclear weapons were created by Robert Oppenheimer. They were created in case if a war gets bad and they needed their opponent to surrender. The two main nuclear weapons are strategic and tactical nuclear weapons. The strategic nuclear weapons are designed to be used on targets that are far from the battle field which is part of the strategic plan. For example transportation, military bases, cities, towns, etc. This system uses atomic or thermonuclear devices. But the tactical nuclear weapons are designed to be used on a battle field. This weapons include gravity bombs, torpedoes,  short-range missiles, land mines, artillery shells, depth charges. Those are equipment with nuclear warheads.

How Do Nuclear Weapons Effect Their Surroundings

When a nuclear weapon is used it produces an intense radiation. A nuclear weapon can cause far-reaching environment damage. Complete destructions is in 1 mi,  severe damage is in 1.25 mi, moderate damage is in 2 mi and light damage is in 3.5 mi from the nuclear weapon released. For the environment to recover it will take three to ten years, depending on what nuclear weapon was used. It won’t be safe for people to live where the nuclear blast happened until it fully has recovered. This is because the nuclear blast intoxicated it’s surroundings, which makes it’s water sources, plants, air, etc harmful for any life.
