Pokémon legends Arceus is the newest release for the Pokémon games. There is a big difference between this and the mainline story games. This one takes place many years before even generation one of Pokémon, all the way back in the Hisui region.

This game takes on an entirely new format with the ability to catch wild Pokémon without engaging in a battle. This is difficult to do as some Pokémon are stronger than others and need to be weakened before you are able to catch them and the same mechanic applies here. Once more there are different forms of Pokémon but there is something that they changed again.

The starters are not something new from the region instead they are all from different generations that have previously been used in the games. Your options are the fire type Pokémon Cyndaquil, the grass type Pokémon Rowlet, and the water type Pokémon Oshawott. Another big turn to this story is the elimination of Pokémon centers, Pokémon shops, and all established gyms and leagues. This makes it so that you have to craft your own pokéball, heal your own Pokémon, and survive Pokémon attacks.

Once more Pokémon has established bonuses for those who have played other Pokémon games for the switch in the past. These games include; Brilliant Diamond, Shining Pearl, Sword, Shield, and the two Lets Go games, Lets Go Pikachu and Lets Go Eevee.
