The Rubik’s Cube is a toy puzzle invented by Erno Rubik in 1971. The Rubik’s Cube is a widely popular mechanical puzzle that has attracted attention worldwide because of its unique characteristics. Erno Rubik was exploring ways to demonstrate 3D movement to his students. In 1974, Erno Rubik invented the Rubik’s Cube.

What Does The Rubik Cube Look Like Physically?

The original three by three Rubik’s Cube has six faces, forming a standard cube. It is cube-shaped and made up of 26 smaller cube pieces having differing colors. There are more than forty-three quintillion ways to scramble a Rubik’s Cube. When solved, each surface consists of nine small outer surfaces of the same color. There are fifty-four exterior surfaces in total. There are many models of Rubik’s Cubes from different companies. Such companies are MoYu, DaYan, GAN, YJ, QiYi, and Rubiks. Some companies make the cube faster by making all of the pieces magnetic, so it becomes faster. Those magnets keep the cube aligned and reduce overshooting.

Rubik Cube World RecordsĀ

Eight years after the Rubik’s Cube was invented, the 1982 World Rubik’s Cube championship took place in Budapest, Hungary. Nineteen people competed in the tournament, and Minh Thai from Vietnam won the event with a single solve time of 22.95 seconds. 22.95 seconds was considered the first world record for the Rubik’s Cube. As time flew by, the evolution of people’s skills to solve the Rubik’s Cube increased dramatically. The current world record is 3.47 by Yusheng Du. Since the first world record to now, a total of 19.48 seconds has decreased and people are getting faster. There will be one day where someone can solve a Rubik’s Cube in the blink of an eye.

Different Types Of Cubes

Since the first cube was made, there have been many different cubes that have been released. The original three by three cube and now the biggest cube is the thirty-three by thirty-three. There is the Pyraminx, the Skewb ,the Mirror, and many other unique cubes.

The Rubik’s Cube will have extensive prospects for scientific research and technology development such as architecture, math, and physics.
