What is the oasis?

The Oasis is a fictional device created by James Halliday in the book/movie Ready Player One. The Oasis consists of a VR headset and a pair of haptic glove and if you’re rich enough in the oasis even a haptic bodysuit. The Oasis was the world’s biggest public library, had free education programs, filled with countless amounts of planets with different purposes. and more.

Could we create something like the Oasis?                                                                         

It could be possible to create the Oasis in real life, we already have lots of different VR headsets, haptic gloves, full-body haptic suits, omnidirectional treadmills, and more. In Ready Player One, Oasis is split into 27 sectors each 10 light-years long.  That’s 5.8786254 x 10¹³ miles per sector, which could be possible because we have games like No Man Sky where they have quadrillions of planets and takes billions of years to explore.

In Ready Player One, nearly all of humanity uses the Oasis daily. The story takes place in 2045 so there are billions of people that use the Oasis. So yes, the Oasis is possible and many companies are creating something similar, for example, Meta.
