Three-D (three-dimensional) printers are amazing things. As you can guess, it prints things in 3D, meaning that they are not flat. Of course, you have the option to print something 2D, but it does not work like a regular printer. 3D printers go layer by layer through a design. It then uses something called filament to actually make it. Filament comes in different colors and types. It uses a process called extrusion to push the filament through a hot nozzle which changes the size of the filament and melts it down. It moves the nozzle in patterns to create the different layers of the print. The melted filament then cools down and takes the shape it was put into.
