The human population is growing. There are approximately 7.674 billion people on the Earth, and by 2050 we are expected to reach 9.7 billion. This will only make it more challenging to feed everyone on this planet. AeroFarms is reexamining how we grow our food by planting it vertically to provide us all fresh and cheap produce. Vertical farming uses technology to produce food quickly.  An AeroFarm facility in Newark, New Jersey, has plants such as arugula, kale, watercress, and all sorts of plants you would find in your local grocery store. These plants are all growing in this one facility, seven levels high. AeroFarms says that it can produce 1.7 million pounds of greens every year. They produce 130 times more produce than your average field farm in America. This process uses less water, no soil, and no sunlight. The technology is called aeroponics. So what do you think? Is vertical farming the future of farming?
