Do you wonder how we understand animals when humans are not present? In this video, the creators made the robot to get a better understanding on how they behave and a different perspective in the colony. A robotic chick was set in within king penguin colony. A king penguin chick is smaller compared to an adult and has brown scruffy feathers. While the robot got into the colony, it got welcomed through cleaning or grooming each other. Little later after the event, Giant petrels decided to hunt the huddle. They prey on the chicks that are injured and ill. Due to the protection of the juvenile’s parents, the giant petrels failed to capture their food. The robot itself has a camera as its eyes and mechanized to stand back up.

This is not the first time a robot snuck to be one with a group of animals. There is more similar, like the video about a robot salmon and bear, or a robot turtle encountering a gathering of chimps. If you want to watch more, go check the channel through clicking the video.
