Bose Frames: Sunglasses With Speakers

Bose Frames: Sunglasses With Speakers

Earlier this year, Bose released the “Bose Frames.” Bose Frames are sunglasses that have speakers inside of them. They connect to your device through Bluetooth. There are two models of the sunglasses; the Bose Frames Alto and the Bose Frames Rondo. Both of the sunglasses are $199.95.

The sunglasses have an open-ear design, allowing you to engage with the people around you while listening to music. The sunglasses are Bluetooth enabled, so you can directly connect to your phone. On the both of the frames, there is only button for all of the controls. You control the play/pause and on/off with just one button. The speakers in the frames also have miniaturized speakers to direct the music towards your ears and away from other people. The only difference between the two are the sizes of the lenses.

This relates to engineering because Bose had to minimize their speakers to fit in the sunglasses frames. They had to make sure that the lenses protect your eyes and the hinges aren’t weak, so the frames don’t fall apart.
