Today we put 6 rechargeable batteries in the battery holder and tried to figure out how to program the remote so that it would direct the robot. At first, the buttons we pressed turned on a LED light on the receiver, but didn’t do anything else. After a lot of research, we found a simple solution that we hadn’t thought of. The P6C RJ25 cable was connected to the wrong port! After reading a Makeblock diagram from this webpage, https://www.makeblock.com/project/makeblock-orion, we connected the receiver cable to the 6th port on the MeOrion, and the vehicle started to move! As soon as we connect the MeOrion and IR Receiver to the frame, we can start testing the robot.
