So I got the inverter board. I then connected it to the V56 controller board. I powered it on with everything attached and then… nothing. Literally, nothing happened. The LCD didn’t even slightly light up.
At first, I was worried that I had maybe broken the LCD board by mistake. Then I noticed these ports on the inverter board that my predecessors had failed to mention.
I happened to remember that while I was taking apart the laptop, there was a board with a cable which happened to fit that exact port. So I guess I will be taking apart the laptop again to find the board and cable that I need.
