Researchers have found a robot that can change shape move and follow electromagnetic commands without any gears and motors. It is a material that is able to “mirror” shape-shifting. It is called a metabot and it can transition between a material and a robot. This invention could revolutionize the whole robotics industry. The electromagnetic fields carry power and signal. This has an origami like design that gives it strength and flexibility. Little tubes hold this cool little robot up. This robot is also only about as thick as a strand of hair. This moves by fine tuned electromagnetic fields that make it fold, spring, and compress.
