Lemurs are in danger of extinction because of the loss of their habitat because humans take their food, capture them to sell them as exotic pets, and do illegal logging and fires; because of this, there are only approximately 100 lemurs left in the world. Lemurs are essential because if lemurs become extinct, their ecosystem will have to face a severe impact. Lemurs are the ones that help plants spread their seeds so that there are more of them all around the island. The loss of lemurs will implicate that those plants will have to take longer to spread their seeds, causing a significant change that would affect the habitat food web and, in turn, the other animals that live in Madagascar. Lemurs can be saved by reforestation, protecting their habitat in Madagascar.
