Computers have been around for a long time, likely longer than you’ve been alive. The first computer was invented in 1822 by Charles Babbage, but it wasn’t built until the early 19th century. We rely on computers every day—using them for homework, work, and entertainment, just like you’re doing right now! The computers of the past had small screens and required a keyboard to operate, they did not have touch screens. In contrast, today’s computers boast large screens, touch capabilities, and keyboards with LED lights. They even come with screen protectors similar to those found on smartphones. You might believe that the computers we have now will be the same ones we use in the future, but that’s not the case. The development of computers doesn’t stop here, in 20 years, we may witness advancements that are even more incredible than what we see today!
