Hypersonic Drone.
Cummings Aerospace and ATRX, two U.S. companies, are working together to develop hypersonic drones that can fly at five times the speed of sound. These drones are designed to help the U.S. military stay ahead of competitors like China and Russia. Cummings Aerospace is contributing its Hellhound UAS, which has already been tested at speeds of over 350 miles per hour. ATRX is providing its Air Turbo rocket, which allows for high-speed flight while using less fuel than similar systems. The goal is to create affordable, fast drones that can fly long distances and support military missions. The companies also plan to make a hypersonic space plane that can take off and land on any runway. This partnership aims to boost the U.S. military’s ability to compete in the rapidly growing hypersonic technology field.
