The “longtail” McLarens
The original ‘long-tail’ was a development of the McLaren F1 GTR that dominated the 24 hours of Le Mans in 1995. the 24 hours of Le Mans is a endurance race where the winning car is the one that covers the greatest distance in 24 hours, not the fastest lap time, on the circuit de la Sarthe, near Le Mans, France. the 1997 McLaren F1 GTR was the first LT car. It was over 100kg lighter than the standard McLaren F1 GTR. The 675LT Coupé was launched in 2012 at the Geneva motor show. The 600LT has a carbon fiber bodywork that extends the front and rear dimensions to increase down-force.
