Sony PlayStation
The first PlayStation was created after Sony and Nintendo failed to partner; Nintendo wanted a CD add-on for the SNES(Super Nintendo entertainment system). When Nintendo chose a different company to partner with, Sony purchased the first PlayStation in 1994. It was about 299. The PlayStation was one of the first consoles with 3D graphics and gained much popularity as a CD-based system. The CDs allowed the game to have more storage, which gave the game more content.
PlayStation 2
to follow up on the PlayStation being successful, Sony released another console called the PlayStation 2 in 200 for the same price as the first PlayStation. The PlayStation 2 was another success because it could play DVDs, making it one of the cheapest DVD players in the 2000s. The PlayStation 2 had a powerful but tricky program to hardware with the engine CPU, and although it was the most powerful console with the best graphics like the Xbox and GameCube, the developers who helped make the PlayStation 2 had many other great games like Gran Turismo 4, Shadow of the Colossus, and God of war.
PlayStation 3
The PlayStation 3, also known as the fat PS3, was made in 2006 and was launched; when the PlayStation 3 landed in different countries worldwide, Sony said that 80 million consoles and 350 million games had been sold worldwide. The PlayStation 3 was more pricier than the other PlayStation’s going for 399 dollars, the PlayStation 3 came with bonus’s such as 2 controller and a variety of games to choose from. The PlayStation 3 got the name “Fat PS3” from its original version, so Sony made a slimmer version of the PS3 later.
PlayStation 4
The PS4 was officially launched worldwide on the 29th of November in 2013, the PS4 was more expensive going for 299 dollars, surprisingly being the cheapest launch price in the PlayStation family. Sony is claiming that the one million consoles were sold in the first 24 hours after it was launched in the US and Canada. The PS4 was compared to the Xbox because of its graphics and faster RAM. The PS4 also had the same bonuses as the PS3, having two controllers and various games. Unlike the PS3, which offers free multiplayer access, PS4 owners must buy a PlayStation Plus subscription to play most paid online games.
PlayStation 5
In 2020, Sony announced the date of the PS5 launch, which was November 12, 2020, and cost around 499 dollars. The new PlayStation 5 had a big improvement on the gaming performance and capabilities, The console came with more powerful internals than before. The PlayStation 5 became a hit as soon as it launched, along with factors like global chip storage. However, the console had its negatives, making it hard to get without paying marked-up prices for a year after launch. The PlayStation 5 could have 4K resolution gameplay, just like the PlayStation 4 Pro, but it had faster FPS, making the gameplay much smoother.
