Cricket has changed over the past years, just like other sports. Changes were made to how the game was being played, such as strategies and rules. Normally cricket was playing in the test format, batting for 2 innings playing at least 3-5 days. There were many changes made from the 1960 to the 2000’s, For example the limited -overs format was introduced giving each team 50 overs, Then in 2004 the first T20 match was played which is the popular format, This made the game a lot more fun and exciting.
Cricket was started in the 16th century by English shepherds and farmers. The ball could be made with cork or wool, and the person batting would use a wood bat to protect the wicket and hit the ball away. In the 17th century, the sport gained more popularity, and formal rules were established, such as the size of the ball, pitch length, and team size.
The future of cricket looks very exciting, with the rise of the T20 format raising its popularity and attracting younger kids. Several trends could shape cricket in the future. Technology like ball tracking, hot spots, and snacks will most likely improve the game and make the matches fairer. With these new trends and technology, cricket is going to remain a popular sport for many more years.
