The company Sany group in Tongyu, Jilin province China has made the “largest” onshore wind turbine. It was announced on October 9 that a 15-MW wind turbine. It was placed in a work site in Tongyu, Jilin Province China. Sany has stated that it is a prototype and that it will be tested over the next year too. The reason that it is a prototype is that Sany wants to “thoroughly test” to see if it will be reliable.
Once installed inside of central China its blades will have a diameter of over 260 meters. The name of the turbine is the SY1310A in the factory Bayannur in northern China. The company stated that the increased strength was meant for greater demands as well as stiffness and strength as well as the need for protection for severe and harsh weather events like lightning, thunderstorms, typhoons, etc.
Although China has made the SY1310A there are many others like it like the MySE-16-260 which is a 16-megawatt wind turbine with blades having a diameter of 853 feet, which is longer by 26 feet from the previous record holder that was announced a few weeks back. When it comes to wind turbines china is the undisputed leader of the nations. Not only a few weeks ago did the Three George’s company announce an 827-blade diameter wind turbine, but the company upped itself by creating the MySE-16-260 which again has a blade diameter of 853 feet.
It is crazy that China has this many huge wind turbines this still does not complete some of the huge wind turbines that China has. Recently the first ever 1.75 million kW wind turbine has been made by the Gansu Guazhou Baofeng Wind Power Development Co., Ltd. The project for this wind turbine is called the wind power generation project. It was installed in Guazhou County, Jiuquan City, Gansu Province. The project has received investments from the Ningxia Baofeng New Energy Technology Co., Ltd.
