What would it look like if everyone disappeared?
After one year, all buildings would lose water. Water systems require constant pumping, and without somebody at the water supply, there would be no water. All the electricity would be gone as well, due to nobody at the power plants to monitor it. Without anybody to mow the lawn, the grass on your lawn would grow and grow and keep growing until it couldn’t anymore. Without anybody to get rid of them, the bugs would be everywhere.
After only one year, all roads, buildings, and other concrete stuff would stay the same. If it was a decade later, they would have cracks in them from small plants growing their way into it. This happens because of the movement of the earth. There is pressure because of the movement, and the pressure causes cracks. After a while, the roads would crack so much that trees could grow through them. Bridges with metal would rust and break slowly. But bridges with concrete would stay together for centuries. The plants we eat would begin to disappear. Say goodbye to tomatoes.
